Rachel Guildford - BABA
What I enjoyed most was the interaction in each class session. What motivated me was my lecturer, Ms. Francis. After completing my second semester, she asked to speak with me after class via zoom and said, “Rach you have to get 1st class honors because your grades are good, and I will help you by pushing you in that direction.” I must say 1st class honors was far from my mind because I came into the program not knowing and hearing it is a lot of work especially reading and researching. I had the mindset of just to PASS all my courses. After listening to Miss and realizing that my grades were good, I changed my mindset and was motivated to go for that 1st class honors. This new mindset shift allowed me to push and see myself in a different light by wanting to achieve more and to set a new accomplishment for myself especially seeing that I didn’t pass SEA nor finish secondary school with no CXC passes. I was motivated to go for my goals and so I did achieve that 1st class honors. This accomplishment has allowed me to gain more self-confidence personally and professionally, which my employer noticed, and I was recently promoted on January 1st, 2024, to food service sales manager.
The staff support was great, they were very helpful and supportive. Thank you, SITAL, for your generous support. I have no regrets.
