Ecotourism Small Business Management
What is Ecotourism?
This is tourism that is directed towards natural environments, intended to support conservation efforts and observe wildlife. In Trinidad and Tobago, there is a tremendous potential and many opportunities for growth in the ecotourism sector. As part of our focus on encouraging entrepreneurship, we want to help people understand this potential, and guide them toward establishing businesses in this tourism sub-sector.
This programme will equip people with the knowledge, attitudes and practices to effectively create, develop, market and manage new ecotourism products. It comprises a number of short modules for entrepreneurs and employees of small ecotourism enterprises such as restaurants and house kitchens, bed and breakfast accommodation, tour guiding and tour operations, eco-lodges etc.
Who will benefit from this Programme?
This is a good course for people who are already working in one of these businesses and are looking for additional skills to improve the business. If you are want to open a small enterprise and need to understand basic aspects of ecotourism as well as business development opportunities, this is also a good course for you.
